Trading since 1999

Founded in 1999 by Mr. Gerhard Lorenz, the company started its business as Gerhard Lorenz Consulting, a trading company for tunneling machines and equipment.

The company with its well-known expertise has been involved in major tunneling projects like the Metros in Madrid, Rom, Bologna and Dubai, the MRT‘s in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taipei or the new St. Gotthard tunnel and also the CERN in Meyrin.

Main business within these projects was the supply of rolling stock, tunnel segment gaskets, ventilations, conveyor belts, rails and switches.

Untill now, the tunneling division is successfully operating on the international market and supporting customers during all kind of global tunnel projects.

Mercurius Commodity Trading

While facing global changes to the market, Gerhard Lorenz Consulting expanded its services by diversification of the business divisions. The focal point moved to commodities e.g. fertilizer, sugar, soya products, D2 and JP54.
Due to this change in business the company was renamed into Gerhard Lorenz Mercurius Commodity Trading.

In 2005 MCT pioneered for AdBlue, a means of reduction for harmful emissions within SCR-Systems, and added another significant division to its portfolio. MCT supported a well-known German Chemical Distributor during his market entrance in Germany and provided extensive expertise and support on a world-wide basis. In shortest time MCT created a global network of production units and sales offices for AdBlue in more then 15 countries with an annual production and sales volume of ca. 100 Mio. liters.

Where we are

Beside the HQ in Gevelsberg (Germany), MCT runs subsidiaries in Miami and Buenos Aires. Additionally to this we have contracted cooperations with partners in China, Singapore, Malaysia and the UAE.
